The X7D and Orion models all have the wireless feature built in to every camera.  Both models operate in a similar fashion and both models can also operate in a "stand alone" mode where they just save the pictures to an SD card at the camera.

Basically in "wireless" mode, both models transmit their images/videos to a base located "miles" away. There are several different base options available (we will cover base options in more detail below). Having different base options allows the system to be more customized to your particular application. Once you have selected the camera model, you just need to decide which base option works best for you.Keep in mind that all our cameras have a built in repeater feature so you can repeat from one camera to the next to increase your transmission range.

The most common base option is the PC Base. If you have a computer within range of your cameras then you would probably want the PC Base option which simply is a modem that plugs directly in to your computer's USB port. The included software allows you to control all your cameras directly from that computer. This is the most popular option because there are no cellular services required, no service fees or no hidden fees of any kind.

If you do not have a computer within range of your cameras, you can use what we call a "CellBase". The cellbase is deployed within range of your cameras and is basically controlled from any computer with high speed internet. The cellbase can be setup to operate on many different cellular service providers (most all major carriers worldwide) The cellbase does require a "montly plan" but only one plan is needed for ALL the cameras. So there is not a plan for every camera but a single plan per cellbase. This is an important difference between our system and other cellular systems out there. For example: a X7D system can operate up to 255 cameras off a single cellbase. Orion system can operate up to 30 per cellbase.  So you can see having one data plan controlling many cameras will be a significant savings every year.  A typical "5gig data only" plan is needed and plans start at $59/mo. The cellbase gives you the ability to remotely control your cameras from anywhere in the world.

The final base option is what we call the "camera base" option. It is simply where you use one of the wireless cameras to be the base for the other cameras within range. This gives you the ability to store all the pictures/videos from all the cameras at a single camera location. This means you just visit the "camera base", swap the SD card and go. 

When in wireless mode, all the camera settings are changed remotely. If you using the PC Base or Cellbase you simply change the settings on the base software. It will send those changes out to every camera automatically and respond with a confirmation. You can also check the status of any camera at anytime (battery, signal, manually trigger the camera, etc.)

Below is an example of an "PC Base" system with several cameras transmitting to the base.

The "PC Base" simply plugs into your USB port on any computer (Windows or MAC) and can control multiple cameras within range of that computer.

No cell service is used or needed when setup in this manner.

Below is an example of using one of the wireless cameras as a "Camera Base". This gives you the ability to use the wireless feature in areas that you might not be able to use a PC Base System. You can use any of the cameras as a camera base.

Cellular Base (CellBase)
The cellbase gives you the ability to control your cameras remotely from anywhere. For example if you had your cameras set out in Texas you could control them from your computer in Ohio and all points in between.
The cell base will work with all the existing wireless cameras so this will be a nice "add on" at anytime!
With our cell base system you can control multiple cameras with a single base and a single data plan. This means once plan multiple cameras not per camera....

The Cellbase can be setup with most major cellular carriers world wide..... and 5gig data plans start at $59/month. (data only no voice needed)
